theatre designer and creator
Hi there! My name is Even. I am a queer, trans theatre creator and designer working and living in Amiskwaciywâskahikan (colonially known as Edmonton). I am also a recent export from Ottawa, located in the traditional unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinabeg. There, I had the privilege to grow into my practice as a theatrical experimentalist alongside many gifted collaborators.
The bulk of my theatrical experience lies in the development and realization of new work. As a budding scenographer, my desire for creative processes lives in finding ways in which design is the catalyst of storytelling, rather than reactionary to the script. I believe that theatre lives in collaborative and transformative experiences for everyone.
I am currently pursuing my MFA in Theatre Design at the University of Alberta. This program trains artists in all visual elements of theatrical production design: set, costume, lighting, and projection.
